The device can also give indication for patient\u00a0response to drugs such as Aspirin or Plavix\u00ae.<\/p>\n<p>Upon application of a blood sample (130 u l) into the polystyrene well, plasma proteins immediately adhere\u00a0to the well surface and attract for platelets, resulting in platelet adhesion and aggregation on the well\u00a0surface under flow conditions. Following removal by washing of the excess blood and staining of adhered\u00a0platelets, a count of the results is performed by an image analyzer.<\/p>\n<p>The results are expressed as the percentage of the well surface covered by platelets aggregates\u00a0(percentage SC) representing platelet adhesion and the average size of the aggregates (AS in u m2)\u00a0representing platelet aggregation.<a href=\"https:\/\/impact-r.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Testing-principle-Impact-R.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-43\" title=\"Testing principle Impact R\" src=\"https:\/\/impact-r.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Testing-principle-Impact-R-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/impact-r.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Testing-principle-Impact-R-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/impact-r.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Testing-principle-Impact-R.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Impact-R (cat. no. 866004V)\u00a0can also be used for the study of platelet function, screening of primary hemostasis\u00a0abnormalities including thrombocytopenia and monitoring their therapies. It can be used for testing both\u00a0hypo- and hyper-function of platelets.
